NARI NATIONAL STRATEGY AND LINKS
As the Voice of the Remodeling Industry and as an industry leader, NARI seeks to build a greater understanding of the remodeling industry by government leaders.
ENERGY STAR / ENERGY EFFICIENCY TAX CREDITS
Advocate for a continuation of the Energy Efficiency Tax Credits, specifically energy star products and building envelope improvements. Unfortunately the past approvals for these were retroactively applied and did not influence buying decisions. There is currently a tax extender bill before congress.
Continue to educate our members on how changes in Federal immigration laws might affect our industry and access to skilled labor. There are several considerations currently before congress.
RRP, Silica Rule, and OSHA job site safety compliance and implementation. Working to educate our membership on updates and changes and continue to advocate for an even playing field.
STATE AND LOCAL
LICENSING and PERMITS
Engage with State Licensing (DSPS) to stay abreast of plans for dwelling contractor licensing. Work to inform membership about Uniform Dwelling Code changes and updates in Wisconsin. Reinforce benefits of contractor licensing and building permit requirements/changes by community.
REMODELING INDUSTRY ISSUES and UPDATES
Promote educational opportunities including internships, apprenticeships, and community engagement to inform the public of career opportunities and paths in the remodeling industry.
